Illustration & Design Process

The product will be developed with the client's involvement until it reaches completion. If you have a deadline, please include this information.

Rough Phase

The client will be presented a draft of the layout of the book, which includes 1-3 rough options for font and text layout within the book before execution of the final product. At this time, the client has the opportunity to approve the layout or select their favorite if presented with more than one option. This is the opportunity to request 1-3 minor changes to things like fonts, their placement, etc which will be incorporated in the final product to ensure satisfaction. Structural changes cannot be made after this step. Changes that are not included in the original description are not permitted and may occur additional charges.

Final Product

Once the rough phase has been approved, Eilie Astara will begin the final product. Then, the client will be presented with a low-res version of the final product for final approval. This is the Final Preview Stage. This is the opportunity to request 1-3 minor changes. Additional revisions after this point or changes which are beyond the scope of the initial description of the project will add additional charges at a rate of $50 USD per hour. Once the layout has been approved, the final high-res, watermark-free book will be sent to the client after the final balance has been paid. Changes or refunds are not permitted once you are sent the final, watermark-free product.

Original Project Files

If the client wishes to purchase the original files that the project was developed in, such as Photoshop PSD files, Illustrator AI files, InDesign INDD files, and/or After Effects AEP files, and any/all assets associated with the project, the client will pay an additional 20% of the original full price of the project.

Terms of Service

I reserve the right to decline any requests at my discretion.
All art is done in my own creative style displayed in this posting and on my website.
Additional charges may occur depending on the time, complexity or additional change requests. No art will be continued without agreement on pricing or charges.
If a project requires a Non-Disclosure Agreement, this must be handled before the start of the product.
This is to ensure that the progress of the product is not shared with the public.

Credit

Clients retain rights and can upload the product to other accounts and websites, but are required to credit Eilie Astara for the original design and artwork of the product itself and product listings. Eilie Astara requires a 'by' title on all products.

Intellectual Property

Intellectual property of the artwork created is attributed to the original owners. Copyright of the final product will belong to the client when the product is 100% paid in full and the job has been completed. Although, Eilie Astara, retains the right to display the product publicly for her portfolio and promotional purposes.

Payment

Payments can either be completed in full via this website or a deposit of 50% of the cost must be made in USD via Venmo or PayPal before the work begins on the product. For larger projects, a payment schedule may be required and this will be agreed upon by both parties via email before the start of the product. I will send an invoice detailing the cost of the product if payment is agreed upon via Venmo or Paypal. Clients are requested to send an e-mail confirmation when any payments have been made.

Refund Policy

Deposits made at the start of a project are non-refundable. Projects that have been worked on, but have not yet reached completion are eligible for a refund based on the percentage completed. A 50% refund may be issued if order is canceled during the Sketch Phase. A 25% refund may be issued if the order is canceled at the Final Preview (watermarked) stage. Once a product reaches completion and the final, watermark-free product has been sent, it is no longer refundable.

Refunds will be issued through Paypal or Venmo. If a refund is issued, no final product and art files will be given, as the client will be compensating for the time spent on the project and not the project itself. In this case, Eilie Astara retains all artwork and design files. All refunded work may never be posted anywhere online, used or reproduced.
